Trauma Therapist in Colorado
Healing is possible—and you don’t have to do it alone.
When you’ve been carrying the weight of trauma, it can feel isolating, overwhelming, or even invisible to others. Whether you're navigating the aftermath of a specific event or the slow burn of ongoing stress, trauma therapy offers space to slow down, feel supported, and begin healing at your own pace.
Trauma Can Feel Like:
Trauma doesn’t always look the way we expect. You might be holding memories or experiences that feel too big—or too vague—to name. You might find yourself stuck in patterns that don’t make sense on the surface but feel impossible to break.
Maybe you notice:
▸ Constant tension and unease, overwhelm, or scanning for danger
▸ A tendency to shut down, avoid, or overreact
▸ Uncontrollable emotions without an obvious cause
▸ Feeling numb or disconnected from your body or emotions
▸ Relationship struggles, people-pleasing, or difficulty trusting
▸ Anxiety, perfectionism, or burnout that won’t go away
You’re not broken. These are real, human responses to hard things—and you don’t have to keep navigating them alone.
Understanding Different Types of Trauma
Not all trauma looks the same. Some experiences are big and overwhelming; others are quieter but still leave a lasting impact. Both deserve care and attention.
Big 'T' trauma includes major, life-threatening events like abuse, assault, serious accidents, or natural disasters.
Little 't' trauma includes ongoing emotional wounds—like childhood neglect, chronic criticism, relationship betrayals, or toxic work environments.
Even if something “doesn’t seem big enough,” it can still deeply affect how you feel and relate to the world. Trauma therapy makes space for it all—no matter the size or story.
Healing Can Look Like
Trauma therapy isn’t about fixing you—it’s about reconnecting with yourself. Together, we’ll work to:
▸ Feel more grounded and less reactive
▸ Make sense of what happened and how it’s affecting you
▸ Let go of shame, fear, and self-blame
▸ Rebuild a sense of safety and self-trust
▸ Create meaningful shifts in how you relate to yourself and others
Healing looks different for everyone. My role is to walk alongside you, offering support, tools, and insight tailored to what you need.
A Trauma-Informed, Holistic Approach
I approach trauma therapy with curiosity, compassion, and care. We’ll move at your pace and explore not just what’s happened, but how your body, mind, and nervous system have adapted in response.
Depending on your needs, our work may include:
▸ EMDR to reprocess stuck memories and beliefs
▸ Parts work to build compassion for the different parts of you
▸ Somatic practices to help you feel more grounded and present
▸ Attachment-focused therapy to heal relational wounds
▸ Mindfulness and insight to support integration and growth
This isn’t one-size-fits-all therapy. It’s a collaborative process, shaped by your needs and guided by a deep respect for your resilience.
What To Expect
Consultation
We’ll meet for 20 minutes to talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, answer your questions, and see if we’re a good fit. We’ll then book your first therapy session.
Continued Work
Over time, we’ll process trauma, develop tools that actually work for you, and gently create new patterns that feel more aligned and empowering.
Therapy Sessions
In early sessions, we’ll explore your goals, patterns, and support needs. You’ll begin to feel what it’s like to be held in a space that’s warm, steady, and non-judgmental.
Is Trauma Therapy Right for You?
You don’t have to have a diagnosis—or a clear story—to benefit from trauma therapy. If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, this work might be a supportive next step.
Trauma therapy can support you if you're experiencing:
▸ Anxiety or chronic stress
▸ People-pleasing or perfectionism
▸ Shame or self-doubt
▸ Relationship difficulties or attachment wounds
▸ PTSD, childhood trauma, or emotional neglect
▸ Grief, loss, or major life transitions

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a type of therapy that focuses on helping individuals work through distressing memories from past experiences while simultaneously performing a bilateral stimulation activity.
EMDR is based on the idea that traumatic memories can become "stuck" in the brain and the bilateral stimulation helps the brain process and integrate these memories in a healthier way.
EMDR is an evidence-based treatment, meaning it has been extensively researched and shown to be effective for treating PTSD and other trauma-related conditions, such as grief and anxiety.
